This blog is focused on the struggles we have with eating and appreciating our bodies as beautiful, the directions that the fields of eating disorders advocacy and research are taking, and thoughts about recovery and self-improvement.While I hope that you check it out, I actually need another favor right now. I'm working on developing a fuller "brand identity" (maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I blame living with a brand marketer) and had Justin create some logos. While I have some thoughts, I'd love to get some feedback on what others are drawn to. I'm posting some of these and am happy to hear what you think, so please leave comments! Thanks in advance =)

ReplyDeleteMe neither...
ReplyDeletein terms of a logo, i like the idea of having an actual logo you can separate from the text (like in the first one). Assuming that symbol means something significant, i think that would be a good thing to put at the end of each post, or something, just to add a little variety. so, while i'm not sure 1 is my favorite, i think the symbol can work well, so it may be worth having justin put together a symbol for whatever is decided upon.
ReplyDeletethe 'g' in number 6 kinda freaks me out. i'm not sure why. ok, maybe that's a little harsh, but it's not my favorite. i like having the lower-case text throughout, cause i think the caps seem to be...loud. and the lower case text in number one is good, but for some reason the "body-mind-soul" makes me think of a food package. in dealing with body image issues, that may be something you want, but...i thought i'd point it out.
so, in closing (before i write a whole blog about this myself), i think simple, lower case text is good, and if possible, i'd personally like some kind of symbol, but maybe that's just me.
also...when you look at it a lot, the word nourishing starts to look really, really weird. that goes for most words, but i felt like mentioning it.
:)
I like 1, 3, and 4. I can't quite figure out what the symbol is on 1 but it looks good. I really like the "mind, body, spirit" part on that logo though. I like the writing on 3, though it is pretty feminine. I would think women are your target audience, but there might be some men too. I also like 4. I like how it has nice font and a symbol too.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the other ones:
2 - the i/l letter kinda makes me think of a really thin person...
5 - just too blocky for me
6 - I'm with the person above. There's something about the g that turns me off.
Hope my critiques help! I really like the idea of having a logo. And nice job Justin -- I like the variety! Good luck with everything.
4. PS. I love your blog and I always look forward to reading it. Keep it up!
